Top 10 of 2015 Day 2: TWENTY Best Book Covers of 2015!

Top 10 of 2015 Day 2:
 Best Book Covers of 2015!!

I love Jaime from Two Chicks on Books. When I heard she was doing a WEEK dedicated to Best Book of the Year Wrap-Ups, I knew I wanted to take part! The event is co-hosted by  Fiktshun, Tales of a Ravenous Reader, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

As long time blog readers know, I LOVE talking about book design. Cover love, interior bliss, spine art...you name it, I love it!

There have been a LOT of great covers that have come out in 2015!!!

Here are my favorites...umm, and it's way mpre than ten, sorry ^^;;; But I HAD to double it!!!

In No Particular Order...

1) SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo

This book is a STUNNER in person. I did a full post on it (And three other brand-new books with GORGEOUS interiors!) when the novel came out. Here's a sneak peek at why this book is so awesome:

Full images here!

2) ONE by Sarah Crossan

Artistic covers slay me, and I love the use of papercraft on this cover!!!

3) AN EMBER IN THE ASHES by Sabaa Tahir

I love how there's always something new when you look at this cover...including the three humans you can see if you really look!!!

I love this cover so much that I did a Design Vlog:

4) THE ART OF  ROCK by Paul D. Grushkin

This cover caught my attention from a shelf at the store. Technically, I believe this came out before 2015, but it's a re-issue, which means it has new info for 2015, and this exact edition has a 2015 release date, SO! *ahem*

I LOVE the way this cover is so super artsy. Look REALLY carefully at that hair. Do you see? It says: "The Art of Rock...Posters From Presley to Punk." Isn't that creative!? I love it!!!

5) A THOUSAND NIGHTS by E.K. Johnston

I never had time to put together a full design post like I wanted to, so look for this analysis in 2016! I really love both the US *and* the UK versions of the cover. I actually imported this from the UK because of how gorgeous it was!!!

Here's a sneak peek at the design vlog you'll see soon from me:

6) TEN THOUSAND SKIES ABOVE YOU by Claudia Gray

These books are SO pretty. They make me wish I liked books about time travel more than I do!!! I love the water color effect these covers have and the way there are two images concealed in one!

7) ILLUMINAE by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

I've been impressed with the cover/interior design of this one since seeing how gorgeous the HARDCOVER ARC was. A LOT of money went into making this book gorgeous. It's impossible to talk about it without showing you the book, so here's an in-depth look at this beauty:

8) THE SIN EATER'S DAUGHTER by Melinda Salisbury

I don't know what it is about this cover, but I really love it! I think it's the danger and the loss of innocence and how fragile she looks. I love the way she's curled up inside the bottle representing poison. There is so much about this cover that defines the story lying within, and I just really love this cover!!!

9) VOICES IN THE NIGHT

This was another cover that stood out to me from the store shelves. I love the design and how intricate it is despite the seemingly simple lines and colors.

I even did a design post because I liked it so much!

10) A BOOK OF SPIRITS AND THIEVES by Morgan Rhodes

This cover makes me both happy and sad at the same time. I loved loved LOVED the original cover that was on the ARC. But the cover design changed before the book was published. I still really love how it looks!!! But I'm really sad it's not the first cover. Even though I love both! Weird, I know...!

11) THE POTION DIARIES by Amy Alward

I love the UK cover for Amy Alward's new series SO MUCH MORE than I do the US version. Plus, the US retitled the book to MADLY, what!? Love love love this illustrated cover!!!

My Review

12) THE SLEEPER AND THE SPINDLE by Neil Gaiman

This is another gorgeously done book! If you remove the cover, it's sheer, and half the cover is hiding, like this:

I did an analysis featuring this book (And three other hot new releases from that week!) and have more images if you want to see this beauty up close!

13) EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING by Nicola Yoon

This cover is so pretty and artsy! I love how the second "Everything" is inverse. Pure white against those beautiful flowers, but a little bit of overlap! The first "Everything" is mostly solid, with only a little imagery. And there's so much white in the border, and then the author's name...I just love this cover so much!!!

14) VENGEANCE ROAD by Erin Bowman

I love the Western feel to this cover. And I love how artsy it is!! It's something you could hang on the wall. Even the title/author are blended into the cover in an artsy way. I could even see this as someone's tattoo. LOVE!!!

15) BOOK OF NUMBERS by Joshua Cohen

Another very artsy cover. I like the mix of mediums being used to shape the cover. I love how it even looks like a partial 8, and it's a "Book of Numbers." There's always something new to look at and discover!

16) BEASTKEEPER by Cat Hellisen

I love the illustrations and the way everything is in shadow. It's a very striking cover!!! If you look carefully, you can even see some hidden images in the shadows such as a buck!!!

17) MY HEART AND OTHER BLACK HOLES by Jasmine Warga

This wasn't the first cover for this novel, but I love it so much more. That's actual embroidery you're looking at, too, and if you feel the cover in person, it has an amazing texture. Somewhere online when the book was shown with the new cover, I saw an article (Or maybe an Epic Reads Tea Time Video?) talking about the embroidery and what went into the cover. I can't find it to share now, though! *sorry!*

18) MADE YOU UP by Francesca Zappia

I love the water color effect of this cover, and the way the umbrella and girl remind me of a paper cut-out. Very artsy!

19) BETWEEN THE NOTES by Sharon Huss Roat

I like the colors and the way this cover is so uniquely shaped. I like the way there's so much whiteness bordering the design. The design goes from houses and buildings to an outdoor scene in silhouette. I love staring at this cover!!!

20) SPINNING STARLIGHT by R.C. Lewis

I haven't had time to do a design vlog yet for this novel, but I want to! I was on a blog tour and reviewed this before it came out, so I didn't have a physical copy in my hand. But the interior is great. Last year, I did a Cover/Interior Design Analysis for another book set in this galaxy, STITCHING SNOW. You can check that vlog out while you wait for me to put this one together! They're both designed really well!!!

My Review
