Top 10 of 2015 Day 1: Best Books I've Read in 2015!

Top 10 of 2015 Day 1:
Best Books I've Read in 2015!

I love Jaime from Two Chicks on Books. When I heard she was doing a WEEK dedicated to Best Book of the Year Wrap-Ups, I knew I wanted to take part! The event is co-hosted by  Fiktshun, Tales of a Ravenous Reader, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

Now, the year isn't OVER for another 10 days. That may not seem like a lot, but if you saw my recent post, you know I haven't had time to read some of this year's "Best" titles. Granted, I posted that a WEEK ago, and I'm on book ONE..and it's middle-grade...there's just not a lot of time/energy for reading during the holidays!!! So my FINAL "Best Of" list will come in 2015, along with some other fun topics!!!

What I'm going to do is post the top *five* books I HAVE read, and the top five I'd *like* to read by the year's end. How is that!?

In Order of My Favorites...

1) A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas

Okay, this book is my favorite book of the year, so it gets the #1 spot. I loved everything about the book. So, so, SO much. It was one of only two books I held and snuggled after finishing it. I did NOT want to give it to Kat the next day to read. I wasn't ready ot say goodbye. I think a big part of my love is due to the fact that Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fairy tales, and ACOTAR was done so superbly. It's B&B, but it's also NOT. It's completely original, but it has the feel and all the elements...in very new ways! I adored this book far beyond what my words can say to you!

My Review

2) ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE by Anthony Doerr

This book is unique because I began it at the end of 2014 and I finished it at the beginning of 2015, so it counts for both years. It was on my 2014 Best of the Year List, and maeks my 2015 List, too. It's won many awards, including the Pulitzer. It's not my normal type of book AT ALL, but I REALLY enjoyed it!!! This is one book that deserves its hype. Annnd it's so good that it took the author ten years to write it! It's really well-written, and I like that even though it takes place during World War II, it's NOT about the Holocaust like the majority of other WWII books, so it explores new facets often not touched upon such as the bombings and evacuations in Paris.

My Review!

3) THE LAST EVER AFTER by Soman Chainani

This is the second of only two books this year that I hugged after finishing. It was a perfect series ender. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to this world, to these characters. This series has evolved so much, and every book has been amazing. With the conclusion, it became one of my all-time favorite book sere is for children. If you  haven't read the series yet, I highly recommend it. You'll be wanting to read it by the time the movie comes out in 2017, so why not start now!?

4) THE ORPHAN QUEEN and THE MIRROR VALIANT by Jodi Meadows

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that THE ORPHAN QUEEN is the ONLY book I've read twice this year. (If I'd had more time, I've be itching to re-read A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES, though!!) I read it as an ARC before it came out, then I read it again this fall when I received an ARC of THE MIRROR KING....followed by a first read of TMK and a read-through of the two novellas in the series (There will be four altogether; the third just came out this month!) I really enjoyed the series, and am eager to have more to read in the world in the form of novellas. I can't wait ofr you all to read TMK when it comes out in April 2016!! I loved this duology SO much and am amazed at how every book from Jodi Meadows gets better and better. If you love fantasy, you should be reading this author, so make sure to add her to your list! If you only read complete series, well, it's only two books, and you can read them back-to-back this spring!!!

5) THE  YOUNG ELITES and THE ROSE SOCIETY by Marie Lu

Last year, I was behind-the-times and I didn't get a chance to read THE YOUNG ELITES by Marie Lu. This year, I made sure to read it shortly before THE ROSE SOCIETY came out, then made sure to dive right into THE ROSE SOCIETY! I'm so glad I finally had time to read this series and can't wait for the final book. What I love so much about this series is the fact that it's so DIFFERENT. It's dark fantasy, and follows an unreliable narrator who is on track to achieve greatness. BUT she doesn't know what path to take. Will she become the hero or the villain of her own story? There are always two sides to a story; even a villain believes in his/her cause. I cannot wait to see Adelina's final journey and the ultimate choices she makes next year!

The Five "Best of the Year" Books
on EVERYONE'S List
that I STILL haven't read!!!!

Based on the books you all mentioned I should read "first" and based on social media/award buzz and based on how much I've heard of them, out of all 13 books I mentioned wanting to read by the end of the year, these are the five that will be on a lot of "Best of 2015" lists. But not mine, unless I can make time to read a little more!

(Actually, I'm reading THE THING ABOUT JELLYFISH by Ali Benjamin right now! I just haven't had much time, so I'm not very far into it, even though I've been reading it for a week now!!!)

Check out the Linky on any of the week's tour hosts to see what everyone else chose!!!

Let's all add some of 2015's "Best"
